All About The Crazy Dog Lady...

I have had dogs and worked with dogs my entire life. You could say that the majority of my life has centered around dogs. I love dogs and they love me! Hence the nickname “Crazy Dog Lady”.

Most things in the dog training world have always come “natural” to me. In 1997 I began to take my natural skills to new levels. I worked and trained for the conformation ring and began training for formal competition obedience.

I have raised a number of German Shepherds in my home, not in kennels, in my home, raised as a “pack”. Nothing has taught me more than that alone! Managing a “pack” and watching the dogs on a daily basis interacting with the family & each other really made me understand and become in tune to the nuances of their behavior, body language and communication skills.

So while I have read more books than I can number, the dogs themselves have taught me far more - and continue to do so!

I have been a TDI Evaluator for years, work at a veterinary clinic, and I have volunteered dog training at the IRDTC. I have worked with three Service Dogs and have trained one to completion ( www.freewebs.com/myservicedog ). I attend training seminars on many levels and I compete in Obedience, Rally, Agility, Herding, Tracking: many dogs - many titles...and I am sure I’ll discover more that I can do with my dogs!

The most rewarding thing I have done to date is the rehabilitation of “Foxy” (photo on the home page and frolicking at left). To make a long story short, she was a wild dog running free for well over a year with no trust of humans. Live trapped and terrified for two months at the shelter, I took her under my wing and there she will be for life….come see us to hear more on her story and to see how far this amazing girl has come!

It is so rewarding and invigorating working as a TEAM with your dog!
